PrizePicks goblins and demons
PickFinder Team•Updated:
A goblin is an easier PrizePicks line that lowers your payout. A demon is a harder line that raises it, and demons are the only way to reach PrizePicks' top payout of 2000x. The line itself moves: with a standard line of 28.5 points, PrizePicks' own example has More 24.5 as the goblin and More 33.5 as the demon.
PrizePicks doesn't publish a fixed goblin or demon multiplier. It says demons vary in how much they add, so the only exact number is the one the app shows on your lineup before you submit. Payouts can vary by state and by the app's current offer, and they change over time. The payout on your lineup's details screen is the one that counts.

Goblin, standard and demon, side by side
PrizePicks' own examples
The goblin or demon is the same player and stat at a different line. Which side is which depends on where the line moved.
Examples from PrizePicks' September 2026 explainer, not live lines.
A worked example
Two goblins on a 2-pick Power Play
Say the app shows 2x. That needs each pick to hit 70.71% of the time, against 57.74% for a standard pair at 3x. A $10 entry pays $20. So the goblins have to hit about 13 percentage points more often than the break-even on standard lines.
Two demons on a 2-pick Power Play
Say the app shows 6x. That needs each pick to hit 40.82% of the time. A $10 entry pays $60. A demon line that clears less often than that is a loss on average, however big the payout looks.
The 2x and 6x here are example numbers to show the sums. Use the multiplier your lineup shows.
Goblin and demon cheat sheet: the hit rate you need
PrizePicks doesn't publish goblin or demon multipliers, so find the number your lineup shows in the app and read across. These are all-or-nothing Power Plays where every pick has the same chance.
This is math, not PrizePicks' rates. It works for any multiplier: the win rate you need per pick is 1 divided by the multiplier, to the power of 1 divided by the number of picks.

More or Less
PrizePicks offers both sides on select projections, across several sports and stat types. More isn't always the demon, and Less isn't always the goblin.
Mix them
Add as many as you like up to 6 picks, alongside standard picks and eligible Team Picks, with players from at least 2 teams.
Check the promo
Taco Tuesday discounts, Guarantee Picks and some Bonus Lineups rule them out. Promo terms vary.
How to tell if one is worth playing
Take the hit rate from the cheat sheet, then compare it with how often the player clears that exact line and what sportsbooks charge for it. PickFinder shows goblin and demon lines with their tag and matches them to the sportsbook market, so you can see if one is really short of the consensus or just looks it. See today's goblins and today's demons, or check what each lineup pays on the payout chart.
Finding the best PrizePicks picks

Goblins and demons FAQ
What does goblin mean on PrizePicks?
A green goblin icon marks an easier pick that pays less than a standard pick. It's the same player and stat at an alternate line, such as More 24.5 points when the standard line is 28.5.
What does demon mean on PrizePicks?
A red demon icon marks a harder pick that pays more than a standard pick. It's an alternate line, such as More 33.5 points when the standard line is 28.5. Demons are the only way to reach the 2000x maximum, and a demon doesn't guarantee it.
What is the goblin payout on PrizePicks?
PrizePicks doesn't publish one. It says goblins lower your multiplier, and the app shows the exact payout before you submit. On a 2-pick Power Play, if the app showed 2x, each pick would need to hit 70.71% to break even, against 57.74% at the standard 3x.
What are the odds on a PrizePicks goblin?
PrizePicks doesn't post odds on them. You can work out what a pick has to hit from the multiplier, using the cheat sheet on this page, then compare that with the player's hit rate on that exact line and with sportsbook prices.
Do goblins and demons only work on More?
No longer. They used to be More only. PrizePicks now offers More and Less on select projections, so a Less can be the demon or the goblin. The icon shows difficulty and the direction is your pick.
Can I mix goblins, demons and standard picks?
Yes, up to 6 picks in all, as long as your lineup has players from at least 2 teams. Some promos can't be used with them, including Taco Tuesday discounts, Guarantee Picks and some Bonus Lineups.
Do goblins and demons score differently on the leaderboard?
Yes. A correct demon scores 1.05 points in your group, a standard pick 1 point and a goblin 0.95.
Is a goblin an easy win?
No. It's easier than the standard line, but the lower payout means it has to hit more often to break even. An easier line can still be a bad pick.
